Here is a recap of the events since the 1st Tomizaki's Champions Kung Fu Institute Championship on January 24th.
March 14, 2009: First group of students to be promoted to higher degrees brown belt.
Mark Rendon: 2nd degree Brown Belt;
Dominic Tarantino: 1st degree Brown Belt;
Kelby Taylor: 1st degree Brown Belt.
April 2, 2009: Lion Dance performance for the Contra Costa Home and Garden Show, at the Sleep Train Pavillion.
May 2, 2009: 36 students attended the 2nd staff seminar, learning the skills and applications of the father of all weapons: the staff!
June 13, 2009: Tomizaki's Champions Kung Fu Institute celebrates its 2nd anniversary with promotions, Lion Dance performance, demonstrations and awards. Special promotions presented to:
Mark Rendon: Black Belt
Rebecca Tarantino: 1st degree Brown Belt
June 27, 2009: Tomizaki's Champions Kung Fu Institute is the most supportive school (higher number of competitors) at the Tiger Claw's Kung Fu Magazine.com Championships, held at the San Jose Convention Center, in San Jose-CA. Students dominated the southern traditional division, bringing back 10 first places, 8 second places, 6 third places, 7 fourth places and the runner up for Traditional Forms Grand Champion (Jill Robards)
Master Tomizaki was the only external traditional kung fu master to perform at the evening Master's Exhibition, along with WuShu, Tai Chi and Chi Kun Masters.
